Calum practises across a broad range of commercial litigation and insolvency matters, including high-value contractual disputes, professional negligence claims, shareholder disputes, and company litigation. He advises clients throughout the lifecycle of a dispute, from pre-action strategy and settlement negotiations through to trial.

His experience includes:

• Assisting with preparation for the quantum hearing in a multi-billion-dollar trust arbitration.

• Drafting pleadings in a professional negligence claim seeking recovery of more than £5 million.

• Drafting a skeleton argument for an application to restrain the advertisement of a winding up petition.

• Drafting numerous skeleton arguments for interlocutory applications in both winding up and civil proceedings under the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court Rules.

• Advising on the merits of a claim arising from the sale of a client's interest in an LLP.

• Preparing numerous letters before action, inter partes correspondence, and advice notes in contractual disputes.

• Advising a client in relation to a potential patent infringement dispute concerning agricultural equipment.

• Drafting a skeleton argument and appearing in the Interim Applications List to successfully secure an order that the costs of a winding up petition be payable as an expense of a company's administration.

• Drafting a Particulars of Claim arising from a company's execution of an offer letter and term sheet during negotiations for a £3 million loan facility.

• Volunteering with the Company Insolvency Pro Bono Scheme, assisting litigants in person in insolvency proceedings.

Before joining the Bar, Calum graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge with a first-class degree in Natural Sciences (Pharmacology). He subsequently completed both the GDL and Bar Vocational Studies programme at City Law School. Outside of law, Calum is keen golfer and tennis player and served as Captain of the Cambridge University Golf Club during the 2021/22 season.
