Harrison Shaylor - Barrister
Harrison has wide-ranging experience of high-profile litigation and arbitrations. He is equally comfortable working closely with external barristers as appearing as an advocate in his own right.
As a member of the CANDEY team instructing counsel at the independent Bar, he has played a key role in cases including:
Morjaria v Mirza [2025] EWHC 1961 (Ch): a complex property and construction fraud claim, culminating in an eight-week High Court trial.
Therium Litigation Funding A IC v Bugsby Property LLC [2023] EWHC 2627 (Comm): the first challenge to a litigation funding agreement following the UK Supreme Court’s decision in PACCAR v Competition Appeal Tribunal [2023] UKSC 28.
Several LCIA Arbitrations involving litigation funding issues with a combined value of in excess of £130 million.
A high-profile arbitration under the UNCITRAL Rules regarding trusts worth several billions of dollars, as well as related proceedings in the Bahamas Supreme Court, Bahamas Court of Appeal and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.
As an advocate, he has appeared at interlocutory hearings in the High Court as well as in LCIA Arbitrations.
Harrison graduated with a First in History from Clare College, Cambridge. He was awarded an Astbury Scholarship from the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple for the GDL and Bar Course, obtaining Distinctions in both. During his time on the bar course, he was the winner of the national Judicial Review Mooting Competition, the final of which was judged by Lord Carnwath and David Elvin KC.
Before joining CANDEY, Harrison worked at the Infected Blood Inquiry and for a leading media, public and human rights barrister at Doughty Street Chambers.
